The 12 Days of BG Christmas is a chance for the BG community to celebrate the Christmas season in a special way, each day leading up to Christmas vacation, whether that’s a visit from Mr. and Mrs. Claus, or cookies and milk at lunch. This year, for the first time, students are receiving a virtual school day for one of the 12 days.

“The students’ favorite days are Ugly Christmas Sweater Day and Sugar Cookie Decorating Day. They enjoy wearing the ugly Christmas sweaters with their uniforms. It’s funny to see them, and some of the students even make their own. Sugar cookie decorating is their other favorite. BG staff member Carol Sanker always bakes the largest, most delicious cookies for the students to decorate. The students have fun icing them and decorating them with sprinkles, before enjoying them at lunch,” says teacher and event coordinator Anna Shrift.

“I think that the 12 Days of Christmas contributes to the formation of school spirit and the overall student experience at BG. These unique events are attractive to students. They want to come to school. They want to be here and be a part of it,” she continues.
